Ethics in sports must take into account the particularities of sport, but despite this there are, on the one hand, values and ideals that sport is inspired by, on the other hand, the consequences must be taken into account according to the principle of responsibility.

Ethics in sports cannot ignore considerations related to sports activity. In particular, it is necessary to take into account sports ideals such as: sportsmanship, fair play, respect for the rules and respect for opponents. The particularity of competitive aspects: often the aim in sports is to defeat the opponent, which implies a certain aggressiveness, especially in contact sports, so there are many aspects to take into consideration.

The first reflection should focus on why one practices sports and therefore try to establish what are the ideals that an athlete should hold and what are the principles that he should be inspired by in his conduct and determine the rules and norms to follow on the basis of what has been established.

Naturally, this should have a legal, but also moral, value, both collective and individual.
