As the Di Pietro Foundation, we had the honor of taking part in the Olympic World Winter Games in Turin 2025, the largest sporting and humanitarian event in the world, which took place in Italy for the first time from 8 to 15 March. More than 1,500 athletes representing 102 national delegations competed in 8 different sports disciplines in an international demonstration of inclusion and unity under the banner of the highest sporting values.
In keeping with its founding mission of solidarity, our Foundation has not failed to provide its support to special children by participating not only symbolically in this very important event.
The first event we took part in was the Gala Fundraising Dinner 2025, which took place in Milan. The evening was centered on an auction whose proceeds contribute to raising funds to support the international organization that promotes inclusive sport for athletes with intellectual disabilities, promoting the movement and its values of inclusion, talent and passion. For the occasion, Vespa celebrated inclusion and creativity by supporting the “Special Olympics 2025 World Winter Games” with a unique project. For the occasion, three Vespa Primavera Electric Moped – “Unique Edition” were created, each paired with two customized Vespa helmets: authentic works of art created by Frank Gehry, Urs Fischer and the artist and Special Olympics athlete Ilaria Ghinka Bonanni.

We then experienced first-hand the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games Torino 2025, which took place at the prestigious Inalpi Arena. The Special Olympics World Games Torino 2025 are now officially open. These games are more than a competition: they are a Movement, a Celebration and a Testimony that Inclusion is possible.
As a third event, the Di Pietro Foundation sponsored the Chairman’s Dinner on the sidelines of the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin. During the dinner, President Tim Shriver honored the Foundation by introducing it to the prestigious guests who attended.
